In chess and in checkers, there is more flexibility which can be established in moving the pieces but backgammon pumps up the challenge because your piece and that of your opponent's can only move in one direction. The way in which the pieces will move is dependent on the color. Usually, the white pieces move in a clockwise direction while the blacks will move otherwise. But you should know that every backgammon game turns begins with the rolling of a dice.

Then of course, there's also the bearing off process which each backgammon player must know and learn how to develop. Bearing off your opponent is an important thing so that you can defend your pieces on board. As you move around the board, and since the pieces will only move in one direction bearing off is important so that you can capture those bored off positions. One important thing you must know about backgammon is that it involves strategizing and using certain methods to make sure you can win the game.
